With the grace and delicacy of a soul at dawn,
an artist a poet creates and teaches
In the studio "Mek to create"

Shahar prefers to paint most of the plants in her immediate surroundings and not necessarily the "magnificent" ones. She collects them on walks in the fields or in the garden, lays them down and draws from live observation - with watercolors, pencils, ink and more. In doing so, she continues a long tradition of intertwining art and the study of nature promotes, however, botanical accuracy is not the main driver of her art.
About the work of the illustrator Shahar Katz
Shahar does not aim for the plant to look the same in all of its components, but rather for its essence to be felt and thereby identified. Therefore it is also less important for her to draw all its parts. This can be done in many different ways and each time look for the special and particular way, in order to convey what touches the heart and arouses interest in the soul. In this way Shahar gives expression from the eyes of her observer, to the heart of the viewer who experiences through her and with her - the beauty, the delicacy, the variety, the exemplary and ingenious order and the infinite variety in nature.
